Following the conclusion of the Durga Puja festival, a noticeable drop in temperatures has been observed in various parts of West Bengal, including the metropolitan city of Kolkata. The Meteorological Department issued a statement on Saturday, revealing that the minimum temperature in Kolkata has dipped to 23.4 degrees Celsius, marking a departure from the usual temperatures.
This has led to cooler nights in the region. Additionally, the maximum temperature in the city has been recorded at just 30.1 degrees Celsius. The temperature decline is not limited to Kolkata; it has also been noted in several districts, including Howrah, Hooghly, North and South 24 Parganas, East and West Medinipur, Purulia, Bankura, Burdwan, and Murshidabad. Presently, there is no forecast for rain in the state.
Furthermore, North Bengal areas like Alipurduar, Cooch Behar, Jalpaiguri, Darjeeling, and Kalimpong remain rain-free.
